I know this landscape.
I have specialized in career transitions for over 23 years, including with the most sophisticated and credentialed of senior executives and professionals. I’ve traveled this terrain hundreds of times with a broad array of new and seasoned clients as an engaged listener, invested partner, trusted advisor, and strong supporter.
Clients have described me as enthusiastic, practical, candid, vibrant, and action oriented. To help you master a stressful transition or make a difficult career decision, I bring energy and ideas, a sense of humor, and extensive experience in the corporate world.
My History
I grew up in Brooklyn, New York when it was anything but trendy. After beginning my career as a Psychologist at Bellevue Hospital, I moved to Boston and garnered extensive experience about the world of work as an Organizational Behavior Consultant at Hay McBer.
Subsequently, I served as a Senior Consultant at Ernst & Young and Wm. M. Mercer, respectively. Most recently, at New Directions, a Boston firm specializing in career and life transitions, I was Practice Director for Women’s Career and Board Services. I also work as a career transition coach for the startup Landit, as a mentor in the Commonwealth Institute's Strategies for Success program, and as a member of The Boston Club, whose mission is to promote the advancement of women to leadership roles.
I founded my consulting practice, Joan Lampert Career Transitions, 23 years ago.
Education
I have a BA from Barnard College, a PhD from Smith College, and an MBA from the Harvard Business School.
“I am so grateful for the time we spent together. Your encouragement, guidance, candor, and sense of humor were a great source of strength, comfort and stability to me at the very beginning of the transition to my next chapter. I am happy, productive, and thriving at this stage of life because of that positive start”
